Junior World Cup: SA U21 Ladies vs Germany

LadiesStoryGermany and South Africa met in what started out as a fierce second Pool B match.

Germany had many penalty corners in the first half and finally scored in the 18th minute, but South Africa countered a minute later to tie the game 1-1.

Back and forth play ensued, until Germany broke past the brilliant play of South Africa’s keeper to go up at the half 2-1.

Germany made a statement through two field goals by Celine Wilde, their third and fourth of the match, in the 36th minutes and 42nd minutes.

Again, quick to counter on the attack, South Africa’s Nicole Kemp shot behind Germany’s keeper; making the final score 4-2.

Leaving South Africa to battle with Argentina in their respective Thursday matches for the last spot to advance in Pool B.
