The South African men’s hockey team recently took part in the BDO Champions Challenge tournament in Argentina. The tournament provides the winning team with an opportunity to join the Champions Trophy which features the top six teams in world hockey.

The South African team achieved a respectable 5^th position out of 8 teams. Their results were as follows:

Game 1 vs Argentina: Lost 6 – 2
Game 2 vs Canada: Won 4 – 1
Game 3 vs Pakistan: Lost 3 – 1
Cross-Pool vs Belgium: Won 4 – 3
5^th/6^th Play-off vs China: Won 5 – 0
